As I am travelling with Annika and I need to practise my english writing, I will try to write some texts in my second language. For sure, you will find many grammar errors... don’t laugh at me please ;-)

We start our road trip one week ago with Miss Monroe who, I believe, is still enjoying the trip. After one month in Queenstown, we left our new foster family at the flaming kiwi backpackers to explore the South of New-Zealand. First, we wanted to go to Milford Sound for tramping but apparently, all treks begins at Te Anau so we were happy to see few minutes of Milford Sound and the famous Mitre Peak, that shows at the end of the fellow ship of the ring.

Day 2: Shopping at Te Anau to prepare our journey to the Kepler trek.

Day 3-4-5: The Kepler trek, “what are we doing here?” is always a good when you are standing in the snow half way up the mountain. The second question is “Why didn’t I bring some sweet food or at least, a little bit more?”. Well we made good friends: Thanks to Boris and Yannick for their contributions! The third is “How old are we?”... 45 or 82 years old ? and my personal question after 2 days and a stiff neck : “Why didn’t I bring a pillow?”, an Israel girl made her boy friend carry her teddy bear for three days. The second day’s view was stunning! We were tramping along the ridge of the mountain as if in a movie scene: When the helicopter arrive at the end to save the people from the storm (no, the weather was nicer) so maybe we were more in the final scene of a nature film... or ok it is enough, you get the picture !

Finally, after all these questions we were successful! You know after three days, the most wonderful thing is the shower at the end hum... or maybe is not... it is the beer at the Moose with the guys ;-)

Day 6: Oh no, is it already 7am? The first question of the morning is: “Why did we book this full day boat trip to Doubtful Sound?” We got up tired, hangover, sore muscles and an angry German lady that we apparently woke up 3 times during the night, oups. Late, another angry woman (the bus lady) came to drag us into the bus and let’s go to Doubtful Sound, Youpi ;-/ Ok, we weren’t in top shape, we had a little nap on the boat but saw dolphins and some great sceneries. Still going strong, we drove by night to Bluff and slept in the car. “Should we put the alarm clock?” Annika said. No..., we sleep in the car. Do you really think that is necessary? (at the same time looking at our accommodation for the night) I answered.

Day 7: Ouch! “Where am I ?” / “What time is it?”: half an hour before the boat departures to Stewart Island. Doesn’t matter, there is another one at 11:30. After some considerations, as the price, the weather and a long holiday weekend (problem to get accommodation on the island), we decided to pass over Stewart Island and go directly to the Catlins...

To find out what will happen next, read the next chapter in a few days...
